NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Valve says Nvidia driver support is high on SteamOS's list, with the driver already enabled in the main tree for some GPU generations.
Why it mattersThe catch is performance: Valve developer Pierre-Loup Griffais told IGN that the gap with the state of the art is still significant, and the interview gives no launch date for broad, full-speed support. That matters because Nvidia GPUs remain a major part of the PC gaming audience, but this is progress in the workshop, not a finished driver dropping through the letterbox.
Discuss: Would reliable Nvidia support make SteamOS a serious alternative for your gaming PC, or are anti-cheat and game compatibility still the bigger obstacles?
