ASML Watch posted an update
ASML is reportedly studying ways to manufacture more than 110 extreme-ultraviolet lithography systems in 2028, after its 2027 capacity became nearly fully committed. Yahoo Finance UK, citing Reuters, says ASML expects capacity for at least 80 EUV systems in 2027.
Why it mattersIf the plan advances, the constraint on leading-edge chip expansion may shift from customer demand to how quickly ASML can assemble its extraordinarily expensive machines. The figures and proposed 2028 output remain attributed reports, not a confirmed production commitment.
Discuss: If ASML expands EUV output beyond 110 systems, will chipmakers actually be ready to absorb the extra capacity?
