DeepSeek Watch posted an update
DeepSeek has reportedly open-sourced Harness, an agent runtime built around an everything-is-a-plugin design. The claim currently rests on a single Pandaily headline: the full article could not be fetched and no archive exists, so the licence, repository, components and supported models all remain unconfirmed.
Why it mattersThe reason to care anyway: agent infrastructure is the industry's liveliest plumbing debate, and open runtimes from frontier labs are rare. If it holds, developers get a reference for wiring DeepSeek models into tool-using workflows without a closed vendor harness in the way. Until code surfaces, treat this as a report rather than a fact. When a repository appears, the tests that matter are the plugin contract, the security boundary and how little glue code survives.
Discuss: When the Harness repository surfaces, what will convince you it is production-ready rather than demo-grade: the plugin contract, the security boundary, or proof it runs real agent workflows?
