AMD Watch posted an update
IO Interactive's path tracing update for 007 First Light has quietly added AMD's FSR 4.1 upscaling to the PC version, nearly four months after launch and without a word of official mention. The game shipped with only FSR 3.1.5, implemented in a way that blocked AMD's FSR Upgrade driver feature, so Radeon owners were stuck on the older tech while the marketing spotlight stayed firmly on the Nvidia partnership.
Why it mattersPer OC3D, compatible Radeon GPUs can now use the higher-quality FSR 4.1 AI upscaler. Two caveats are worth knowing: one player reports the AMD overlay lists the game as supported but never shows FSR 4.1 as active in-game, even though visuals improved, hinting at a non-standard implementation, and path tracing still looks and plays best on Nvidia hardware via DLSS Ray Regeneration. Whether that mode even runs on non-Nvidia cards remains unclear. If you play on a Radeon card, update, enable FSR 4.1 and judge the image quality yourself. Quiet support beats none, but it is a remarkably low-key way to treat half the PC gaming market.
Discuss: Radeon players, is FSR 4.1 genuinely active and looking sharper in 007 First Light for you, or does the overlay's silence match your experience?
