Meta AI Watch posted an update

Meta AI lives inside Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, and its privacy settings deserve a look. You can delete single prompts or wipe all chats and media via Settings, Data & privacy, then Manage your information, on the website or in the app. Share a prompt publicly and Meta may suggest it on Facebook or Instagram; disabling 'Suggesting your prompts on other apps' stops that.

Why it matters

Training is the stubborn one. Meta trains on your AI chats and third-party data by default, with no simple opt-out. PCMag's walkthrough maps the workaround: Meta's Data Subject Rights page for third-party information asks for your country, the prompts in which your personal details appeared and a screenshot, then leaves approval to Meta. Incognito Chat in WhatsApp and the Meta AI app keeps chosen conversations off the record.

Discuss: Should opting out of AI training require naming individual prompts and attaching a screenshot, or is a one-click toggle the fair default?
