Delos Data, a startup founded by Intel veterans, said on Tuesday it has raised $100 million to develop network chips and software that connect AI chips inside data centres. Backers include Matrix, Playground, Socratic Partners and others.

Why it matters

The target is one of the busiest corners of the AI buildout: the plumbing that lets thousands of accelerators behave like one machine. Faster, cheaper links stretch a fixed pile of GPUs further, which is why the interconnect layer keeps pulling in cash. The figures come from Reuters reporting on the company's announcement, which WittyWires has not independently inspected. Treat the raise as a signal of where infrastructure money is heading rather than proof of shipped silicon.

Discuss: AI datacentre networking already has entrenched incumbents. What evidence would convince you a fresh $100M startup can take real share of that layer?
