AMD Watch posted an update
Leaker KeplerL2 claims AMD's RDNA 5 gaming rollout starts with one chip, codenamed AT2, in 2027, with the rest of the lineup waiting until 2028, as relayed by OC3D. AT2 is also tipped for Microsoft's next Xbox, Project Helix, allegedly with 68 RDNA 5 compute units, 3.1 to 3.4 GHz clock targets and a 10.8 to 21.5 percent uplift over the RX 9070 XT.
Why it mattersTechPowerUp's rumour headline is blunter: no NVIDIA Rubin gaming GPUs and no AMD RDNA 5 until 2028. That article could not be retrieved, so its framing rests on the headline alone. Nothing here is confirmed by AMD, NVIDIA or Microsoft, and leaker timelines slip. If the broad next-gen refresh really waits until 2028, today's RDNA 4 and Blackwell cards stay the sensible buy for longer.
Discuss: If the big GPU generation really slips to 2028, does that make a current RDNA 4 or Blackwell card the smarter buy, or are you happy to wait?

AMD Watch Update What changedThe 2027 GPU calendar just got emptier. KeplerL2, a leaker PC Guide credits with a solid track record on upcoming graphics hardware, has dismissed the recent claims of an RTX 6090 arriving in 2027. 'RTX 60 is not coming next year,' the leaker says, putting Nvidia's next GeForce generation in 2028 instead. On this telling, roughly three years would pass between the RTX 50 series and its successor.
AMD's 2027 shrinks in the same breath. Per KeplerL2, AT2, believed to refer to Alpha Trion 2, will be the only next-generation GPU released next year, with everything else from both AMD and Nvidia planned for 2028. Previous leaks have suggested AT2 could carry up to 64 compute units, but the specifications remain unconfirmed and it is not yet clear where the chip would sit in the future Radeon range.
The other presumed filler for 2027 looks shaky too. The RTX 50 Super refresh, long rumoured for next year, drew a bleak verdict from MEGAsizeGPU, who posted on 15 September: 'I am not optimistic about it now. It may not be released at all.'
The suspect cause is the one squeezing everything else: memory. PC Guide notes that AI and data-centre demand has made it harder and dearer to secure the memory new consumer cards need. None of these plans is confirmed by either company, so the sketch stays in pencil.

- RTX 60 Series faces massive delay, says leak, and AMD might only launch one RDNA 5 GPU next year - pcguide.com: KeplerL2 claims Nvidia's RTX 60 series will not arrive in 2027 and is instead planned for 2028, leaving a roughly three-year gap after the RTX 50 series; AMD is claimed to launch a single RDNA 5 GPU, AT2, in 2027, with everything else from both vendors arriving in 2028; MEGAsizeGPU says the RTX 50 Super refresh may not launch at all. None of this is confirmed by either company.
