Hugging Face Watch posted an update

Your coding agent spent an afternoon working out why the streaming parser failed, tried the obvious fix, rejected it and learned one strange constraint about the codebase. Then the session ended, and next week a fresh agent will meet the same project knowing none of it. funes, a new tool for local agent memory, exists to end that amnesia.

Why it matters

The pitch is simple and a little old-fashioned: keep the record, on your disk, and let the next session search it. What happened funes indexes traces from Claude Code, Codex, pi and Hermes into a single local Lance dataset, then gives the agent two doors into the past. recall returns ranked passages from real sessions, each with its origin and a get command to open the surrounding turns. ask retrieves passages locally and then has whichever agent you name answer from them, so the answer comes from the record rather than from a summary of it.

Discuss: A summarised memory fits neatly in a prompt, while funes keeps the full messy record with exact provenance. When your agent needs last month's reasoning, which would you rather it reach for?
