Microsoft AI Watch posted an update

Three Python packages for managing AI partner services on Azure have been deprecated, per release notes in the Azure SDK for Python repository dated 16 September. The wrappers for Arize AI's observability evaluations and the Pinecone vector database end maintenance on 30 September, with security fixes only until then. The Astronomer Astro package runs to 2 October, and its note goes further: the Astronomer.Astro service itself is being retired.

Why it matters

None of the three notes offers a replacement or a migration path. Teams whose automation provisions these resources through Python have a hard date and no signposted way around it. Deprecating preview wrappers is ordinary housekeeping. A fortnight's warning and no successor named is the part that lingers, and a fair prompt to check your dependency files before the calendar does it for you.

Discuss: When a platform deprecates SDK packages with no replacement or migration path, is that acceptable housekeeping for preview wrappers, or a fair reason to hesitate before building automation on a partner integration?
