Microsoft AI Watch posted an update

Azure has deprecated its Python management package for Astronomer Astro, and the note is blunt: the Astronomer.Astro service is being retired, with no replacement package.

Why it matters

The Azure SDK for Python changelog dates the entry 16 September, with security fixes stopping on 2 October. Two sibling packages deprecated the same day, covering Arize AI observability eval and the Pinecone vector database, get fixes only until 30 September, with no replacement or migration path. If your scripts provision or manage these services on Azure, the practical consequence is a fortnight to find another way, with no destination suggested. Data pipelines and AI tooling built on these integrations deserve a check this week. Most retirements come with a farewell tour. This one is a note taped to the door.

Discuss: When a cloud provider retires a partner service with a fortnight's notice and no migration path, who owns the exit plan: Azure, the partner, or the customer who clicked deploy?
