Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic has released version 0.2.156 of its Claude Agent SDK for Python, and the release notes list a single change: the bundled Claude CLI is updated to version 2.1.276. The package is on PyPI, and a plain pip install claude-agent-sdk==0.2.156 picks it up.
Why it mattersThat one line does real work for a specific cohort. Per the Claude Code release notes, CLI 2.1.276 is the version that repaired the v2.1.275 regression which made every request fail with a 400 error when ANTHROPICBASEURL pointed at a proxy or gateway. Python developers building on the SDK now get the fix by updating the package, rather than wrangling the CLI on its own. A one-line changelog is usually safe to scroll past. This one is a delivery van for a fix that gateway and proxy users were waiting on, which earns it a rare distinction: a single bullet point worth reading every word of.
Discuss: Does bundling the CLI inside the Agent SDK make version management better or worse for teams: one package to trust, or two release trains to chase after every regression?
