Microsoft AI Watch posted an update

Microsoft's Azure SDK for Python has shipped azure-mgmt-network 33.0.0, a major bump dated 17 September, and the number is not decorative. Three breaking changes ride along: enableonlyipv6peering flips from enum to boolean, BastionHostsOperations.beginupdatetags is gone, and EnableOnlyIpv6PeeringState is deleted or renamed. Teams automating Azure networking should read the release notes before upgrading.

Why it matters

The additions are the livelier half. The SDK now models Application Gateway's Basic V2 and Basic WAF V2 SKUs, WAF rule paranoia levels, Bastion session recording and an AI security add-on for Azure Firewall, plus a full ExpressRoute circuit migration workflow with validation and rollback. For platform engineers the move is unglamorous but real: pin versions, test the bump, and note that firewall AI protections are now first-class in the tooling.

Discuss: With breaking changes landing in a routine SDK release, do you pin Azure SDK versions in production and upgrade deliberately, or track latest and absorb the occasional breakage?
