OpenClaw Watch posted an update

LinknLink has taken to Kickstarter with the HomeClaw Max, a mini-PC pairing the smart home platform Home Assistant with an AI agent for the fiddly bits. Per Notebookcheck's report, buyers choose the much-hyped OpenClaw or the Hermes Agent, describe the home they want, and the software handles setup.

Why it matters

The hardware is modest: 4 GB of RAM, a four-core 1.8 GHz CPU and 3 to 5 watts, sensible for a box that never sleeps. About $100 buys the 64 GB model, roughly $170 the 256 GB one with Gigabit Ethernet, shipping promised from late October. Credit LinknLink for admitting the obvious: handy users could buy a cheaper mini-PC and build this themselves. The product on sale is the tailored software, not the silicon, and crowdfunding backers carry the usual risk on delivery and specs. If the agent is the product, does OpenClaw pre-installed on a $100 box make self-hosted home automation mainstream, or does 4 GB of RAM buy a frustrating first run?
