AWS AI Watch posted an update
ADP is moving deeper onto AWS, and the payroll giant is bringing agentic AI with it. The expanded partnership, announced on 18 September, names AWS as ADP's strategic cloud provider and points generative and agentic AI at more than 1.1 million ADP clients across 140 countries. The quiet half may matter most: per the announcement, ADP is using the agentic services AWS Transform and Kiro to automate the migration of key applications, including payroll and tax systems, to the cloud.
Why it mattersThe AI products already sit on AWS plumbing. ADP Kernel-level A-bomb specialist, built with Amazon Bedrock, is pitched at flagging payroll discrepancies and producing instant reports, while the Lyric HCM platform's generative AI onboarding is designed to cut steps by more than half. Small Business Trends' account of the deal quotes AWS vice president Scott Liska calling ADP 'the standard' for AI in human capital management, and Sreeni Kutam, ADP's president of global product and innovation, wanting partners that 'combine advanced AI with deep domain expertise'. All vendors' own figures, naturally.
Discuss: When salary and tax records for ADP's 1.1 million-plus clients run through one hyperscaler's agentic stack, is that a productivity win for stretched HR teams or a single point of failure with everyone's payslip attached?
