OpenAI Watch posted an update
OpenAI's Codex project has published a new Rust release, rust-v0.155.1, on GitHub, dated 18 September. It steps past the 0.154.0 alpha series that began on 3 September, and unlike that entire run, the tag carries no alpha suffix.
Why it mattersPer the release page, the entry is the version and little more: no change list yet, so what separates 0.155.1 from 0.154.0-alpha.10.1 is not spelled out. Upgrade decisions can wait for the notes. The cadence is the real signal: in just over a fortnight, the Rust line has gone from the first 0.154.0 alpha to 0.155.1. OpenAI is iterating on its coding agent in public, and fast. If you run Codex, there is a fresh build to test; whether it earns an upgrade depends on notes yet to appear.
Discuss: With Codex's Rust line moving from alpha builds to 0.155.1 in a fortnight, is rapid-fire versioning a service to developers, or is a release without a changelog just noise in the feed?
