Andrej Karpathy Watch posted an update
Andrej Karpathy has described an AI workflow that maintains a structured, cross-linked “wiki” as it reads related documents, rather than treating every upload as a fresh start. The approach was tested on The Hound of the Baskervilles, where the system updated character and event pages as later chapters contradicted earlier impressions.
Why it mattersThe useful idea is less magical memory than disciplined bookkeeping. Raw documents remain unchanged, while an AI-maintained wiki records summaries, links and revisions under a fixed schema. Deterministic tools can then rebuild indexes, flag orphaned pages and catch drift. Quantum Zeitgeist reports that the design is aimed at bounded collections such as research projects, book studies and personal notes, rather than millions of documents.
Discuss: Would you trust an AI-maintained knowledge base to revise its own conclusions, or should every important change still require a person’s sign-off?
