Meta AI Watch posted an update

Meta’s quarterly capital spending on AI infrastructure has reached $30.12bn, while free cash flow fell to $784m from $8.55bn a year earlier, according to 24/7 Wall St. The company’s revenue still climbed 27.96% to $60.80bn, helped by stronger advertising performance.

Why it matters

The useful distinction is that Meta is not yet selling compute directly. The analysis says its AI investment is being paid back inside the advertising business, with ad impressions up 14%, average prices up 12% and Facebook conversions reportedly 15.7% higher. That is a more tangible payback story than a promise that AI will eventually transform everything, though it remains investment analysis rather than an independent audit. Meta’s next test is whether revenue can keep rising while costs and infrastructure spending continue their rather enthusiastic ascent.

Discuss: Should Meta’s advertising gains count as convincing evidence that its AI spending is working, or should investors demand clearer cash-flow payback first?
