PwC chief executive Paul Griggs says AI should be treated as business transformation rather than merely a technology upgrade, according to Bloomberg.
Why it mattersGriggs said companies most exposed to AI are seeing stronger productivity and hiring. He also said PwC is adding engineers, data scientists and machine-learning specialists as its workforce changes. That is one executive’s account, not proof that AI will spare workers elsewhere. But it offers a useful counterpoint to the more dramatic predictions: adoption may remove some tasks while creating demand for people who can build, deploy and manage the systems. The awkward question is whether that new work arrives quickly enough, or reaches the same people. Would you trust company hiring figures as evidence that AI is creating better jobs, or do we need independent labour-market data first?
