Altis Labs has raised $25m in Series A funding for software that analyses CT scans from oncology trials and produces predictions linked to patient survival, according to Natalie Breymeyer at Axios.
Why it mattersThe company is positioning the system as drug-development infrastructure, not another general-purpose chatbot. Its practical promise is to help researchers read trial imaging and identify signals that might otherwise take longer to spot. The funding is a useful marker for where clinical AI is heading, but it is not evidence that Altis improves treatment decisions or patient outcomes. Those claims will need results from real trials, not merely a very confident model and a sizeable cheque.
Discuss: Should clinical AI companies have to publish independent evidence of patient benefit before hospitals or drug developers treat their predictions as useful?
