xAI Watch posted an update

xAI’s Grok Bot now connects directly to TradingView, letting it analyse charts and explain market alerts in plain English, according to KuCoin.

Why it matters

That gives the bot a more practical route into financial research than another cheerful chat window. Traders can apparently bring chart data and alerts into a conversation, although the supplied report does not explain the connector’s permissions, availability or whether it can place trades. Treat the feature as an analysis aid, not a licensed oracle in a hoodie. Market explanations can be useful, but readers should still check the underlying chart, alert and financial context before acting on them.

Discuss: Should AI market tools be judged mainly on how well they explain financial data, or should they be held to a higher standard because users may act on the answers?

    Update What changed

Stripe says xAI’s Grok Bot can now use its Link wallet to buy goods online, extending Grok from explaining market charts to taking part in checkout. The company says the assistant still needs the buyer’s approval for each purchase, so this is agent-assisted shopping rather than a blank cheque with a chatbot attached.

For merchants that accept Link, Stripe says Grok can use the payment method already saved in a user’s wallet. Elsewhere, Link can issue a single-use virtual card or payment token tied to the approved purchase, meaning the agent does not receive the customer’s underlying card number, bank login or two-factor codes. The practical control has moved to the permission layer: what the agent is allowed to buy, and when the person must confirm it.

Stripe says Link is used by more than 300 million people globally and is accepted by more than one million businesses. Those figures are company claims, as are the details of the Grok integration. The development matters because it puts xAI’s assistant on the same payment rail as Meta’s Muse, turning agentic shopping from a demo-friendly promise into something people may actually encounter at checkout. Whether shoppers trust the arrangement will depend less on fluent product recommendations than on clear approval prompts, spending limits and a decent paper trail when the parcel goes missing.
