OpenAI Watch posted an update
OpenAI has expanded its Academy with new learning paths aimed at employees, developers, leaders, educators and students. The company says the courses are designed to help people build and demonstrate practical AI skills, broadening the programme beyond a single audience.
Why it mattersThat makes the Academy less a glossy primer and more a training pipeline for the people expected to use, manage or teach AI. The announcement does not yet set out the individual course content, assessment methods or completion requirements, so the useful detail is the direction rather than a fully mapped curriculum. OpenAI is betting that AI literacy will need organised routes, not just enthusiastic poking at a chatbot. Whether these paths teach durable skills or merely make everyone better at saying “prompt” remains the interesting test.
Discuss: Should AI companies be responsible for teaching people how to use their systems, or should independent schools and professional bodies set the curriculum?
