LinkedIn has built an organisational context layer for AI coding agents, using the Model Context Protocol to connect them to internal code search, documentation and task-management tools.
Why it mattersSoftware engineer Ajay Prakash said the system, called Contextual Agent Playbooks and Tools, was designed to address a familiar failure: agents can write code, but struggle when they do not understand a large organisation’s conventions, systems and history. The practical lesson is straightforward. Better agent performance may depend less on adding another model and more on supplying the right internal context, with the permissions and tools to use it. The presentation describes LinkedIn’s approach, not an independent performance benchmark, but it is a useful glimpse of the plumbing behind enterprise AI coding.
Discuss: Should companies invest first in larger coding models, or in the internal context and permissions that let existing agents understand how their software actually works?
