Belgian AI recruitment platform Spott has raised a $21 million Series A led by Balderton Capital, with Base10, Y Combinator and Fortino participating, Chris Metinko reports for Axios.
Why it mattersCEO Lander Degreve told Axios that the round brings Spott’s total funding to $24 million. The company is building recruitment management software with AI at its core, putting fresh money behind the effort to automate parts of hiring rather than merely adding another chatbot to the office furniture. The useful question is what the funding buys in practice: faster recruitment administration, better matching, or simply another well-funded promise that employers will soon stop wrestling with spreadsheets. Spott’s next test is showing how its system performs for candidates and hiring teams.
Discuss: Should AI recruitment companies be judged first on hiring speed, candidate outcomes, or how transparently they explain their decisions?
