Microsoft AI Watch posted an update
Microsoft’s Azure Storage Blob Python SDK 12.30.3 now makes async clients reject header names and values containing carriage returns or line feeds when sending batch requests. The change brings them into line with the existing synchronous-client behaviour, according to the official release notes.
Why it mattersThat matters because malformed headers can distort the shape of a request instead of being quietly carried along. Developers using the async client should update to 12.30.3 and test any code that constructs batch-request headers. A small patch, perhaps, but the sort that prevents a quiet bug becoming a loud incident later. Would you rather an SDK reject questionable input immediately, or sanitise it quietly and keep the request moving?
Discuss: Should SDKs reject malformed request data by default, or sanitise it quietly to preserve compatibility?
