NVIDIA Watch posted an update
NVIDIA has launched Isaac ROS 5.0, an open-source software package aimed at helping robots plan and carry out complex sequences of physical tasks, according to AD HOC NEWS.
Why it mattersThe release matters because it shifts NVIDIA’s robotics pitch beyond supplying chips. Isaac ROS 5.0 is presented as a software layer for agentic machines, putting planning and orchestration closer to the centre of the company’s strategy. That does not prove robots are suddenly ready to run the warehouse unsupervised. It does show NVIDIA trying to make its software stack as difficult to avoid in robotics as it has become in AI computing. Will open robotics software speed up useful machines, or simply give NVIDIA another very large place to sit in the middle?
