Ema, a startup using teams of AI agents to automate corporate processes across HR, IT and finance, has raised $77m in a Series B led by Creaegis, according to TechCrunch.
Why it mattersThe round takes Ema’s total funding to $140m, putting a useful number on investor confidence in software that promises to handle more than chat and summaries. Its target is the administrative machinery of large businesses, where repetitive work meets expensive headcount. That is a substantial bet, not proof that Ema’s agents are accurate, secure or ready to run sensitive processes without supervision. The practical test will be whether companies trust them with real workflows rather than merely inviting them to another pilot programme. Would you let AI agents handle HR, IT or finance tasks, and which area should remain firmly human-run?
