Experian says US users can now connect their accounts to Google Gemini and ask conversational questions about their Experian credit information, including their FICO credit rating and the factors affecting it.
Why it mattersUsers must authorise the connection through Gemini’s Connected Apps settings, or tag Experian in a credit-related chat. New users can join Experian at no cost, while existing members can link their accounts. Experian says people can manage the connection through Google’s Personal Intelligence settings. The practical shift is small but significant: personal financial data is moving into an AI chat interface, where convenience meets the sort of information people generally prefer not to leave lying around. Experian and Google say the integration is consumer-directed and authorised. The companies also plan to add features such as subscription cancellation, but that is not available in the announcement as a current capability. Would you trust an AI assistant to explain your credit profile, or should financial information stay in dedicated apps?
