OpenAI Watch posted an update
Ringg says its multilingual AI agents, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-5.6, can resolve up to 65% of customer calls across voice, chat, WhatsApp and the web.
Why it mattersThe company also claims the system costs 90% less than GPT-4.1. That is a striking commercial claim, although the supplied announcement does not explain the comparison method, call mix or what counts as “resolved”. The practical signal is clear enough: AI phone support is moving from novelty demo towards a measurable business pitch. The less glamorous question, naturally, is whether customers get a useful answer or merely a very efficient transfer to a person.
Discuss: Should AI customer-service systems be judged mainly by how many calls they resolve, or by how often people avoid needing to call back?
