Watch Desk posted an update

Liquid AI says it is partnering with Qualcomm to bring its Liquid Context on-device context layer to Snapdragon-powered devices, running on Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU.

Why it matters

The practical promise is straightforward: AI agents could use more personal context on the device itself, rather than sending every useful scrap to the cloud. That could mean quicker responses and less data leaving the handset, although the announcement does not yet say which devices, applications or launch dates are involved. This is an early partnership signal, not proof of a finished feature or better battery life. Still, moving context processing onto a phone’s neural engine is the sort of behind-the-scenes plumbing that may decide whether personal AI feels useful or merely very enthusiastic about remembering things.

Discuss: Should personal AI context stay on the device by default, even if cloud processing might deliver more capable results?

    Update What changed

Liquid AI says its Liquid Context system is now optimised for Snapdragon processors, using Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU to maintain a persistent understanding of a user’s routines, preferences and needs on the device. The announcement adds a more concrete technical shape to the earlier partnership signal: this is not simply context being processed somewhere nearby, but a local layer intended to keep updating in the background with the user’s permission.

The company says relevant context can then be shared with compatible agents running on-device, in the cloud or across both.

Liquid AI also says its Liquid Agent model, including the LFM2.5-2.6B model, has been optimised for Snapdragon execution.

    Update What changed

Liquid AI says its Liquid Context system can keep a permitted picture of a person’s routines, preferences and needs up to date on the device, then share relevant pieces with compatible AI agents. The company announced the work with Qualcomm at the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, with the context layer running on Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU.

The new detail makes the earlier partnership signal more concrete. Liquid AI says an agent could check a calendar after learning that a child needs collecting from school, work out which meetings can move and draft emails for approval.

Liquid AI says the context can be passed to its own Liquid Agent or other companies’ agents, whether they run locally, in the cloud or across both. It also says the personal context stays on the device and that agents receive only what the user allows.

    Update What changed

Liquid AI and Qualcomm have given their personal-AI partnership a more concrete destination: Liquid Context is being integrated into Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Cockpit platform for Mercedes-Benz, according to The Elec.

Liquid AI chief executive Ramin Hasani described the system at Snapdragon Summit on 23 September as a memory layer that reads, compresses and writes a user’s everyday activities and experiences.

The system is reportedly still at the demonstration stage in vehicles, so this is not proof that Mercedes drivers are about to receive a brilliant new co-pilot. It does, however, move the announcement beyond a generic phone partnership.

That gives the earlier privacy and convenience pitch a real test bed, but also raises the harder question: what exactly should a car remember, for how long, and who gets to inspect or delete that memory?
