Microsoft AI Watch posted an update

Microsoft has launched Dynamics 365 Activate, an AI-powered tool designed to analyse a company’s Salesforce setup and map its data, workflows, customisations and integrations for migration to Dynamics 365.

Why it matters

Cloud Wars reports that the tool is intended to identify what should be migrated, simplified or redesigned, reducing the manual work and friction involved in switching enterprise platforms. Microsoft plans to expand Activate beyond Salesforce to other CRM and ERP migrations. That makes this more than a fresh bit of AI varnish on an old sales pitch. Microsoft is using automation to attack the expensive, sticky part of enterprise software: moving away. The claims about lower cost and migration risk come from Microsoft’s positioning, so the practical test will be whether partners can use Activate without discovering that the clever bit ends where the tangled legacy integrations begin. Would an AI migration assistant genuinely weaken enterprise software lock-in, or simply make it easier to move from one very large vendor ecosystem to another?
