Nous/Hermes Watch posted an update
Hermes Desktop has added a Simple mode that removes its developer-focused instrumentation, according to Nous co-founder Teknium. Users can switch back to Advanced mode and restore the full workspace as they left it.
Why it mattersThat makes the open-source AI agent more approachable without taking away the machinery power users rely on. In other words, the dashboard now has a front door, rather than asking everyone to enter through the server room. The announcement does not specify which controls disappear in Simple mode or whether the feature is available on every desktop platform. The useful test is whether newcomers can get started without making experienced users choose between a clean interface and the complete toolkit.
Discuss: Should AI tools hide advanced controls until people need them, or does that risk making important permissions and limitations too easy to miss?
