Nous/Hermes Watch posted an update

Nous Research’s Hermes Agent has been shown controlling a Microduck robot from a single sentence: walk forwards for five seconds, then sit. The demonstration was posted by Witcheer on X on 24 September.

Why it matters

According to Witcheer, Hermes checked the robot’s starting position, stood it up, moved it 0.58 metres and sat it down again, choosing and running the commands itself. That is a small physical task, but it shows the agent operating beyond chat and into an embodied control loop. The clip does not establish how reliably Hermes handles unexpected obstacles, unsafe commands or repeated runs. Still, the practical signal is clear: natural-language control is beginning to look less like a party trick and more like a usable interface for simple robots. The duck has, regrettably, entered the software stack.

Discuss: Should robot agents be allowed to choose and execute movement commands from ordinary language, or must every physical action still require explicit human approval?
