AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS has made PostgreSQL 19 Beta 4 available in the Amazon RDS Database Preview Environment, giving customers an early way to test the database release on managed cloud infrastructure.
Why it mattersThe preview includes query-performance and autovacuum improvements, bug fixes and stability work since Beta 3. AWS says parallel autovacuum now shares a rebalanced cost limit across workers, while fixes improve reporting for TOAST tables and freeze-score scaling. This is a test drive, not a production upgrade. Preview instances are retained for up to 60 days and then deleted, while snapshots created there can only be restored inside the preview environment. Teams wanting to move data in or out must use PostgreSQL dump and load tools. Would you test a beta database feature in a disposable environment now, or wait for general availability and let somebody else find the sharp edges?
