Hugging Face Watch posted an update
Hugging Face Hub’s v1.33.0 release adds a percentage-based Validating stage for large Xet uploads, so users can see what is happening between uploading and committing instead of watching the interface disappear into the fog.
Why it mattersThe update also makes hf skills add install skills for supported agent environments by default, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and Pi. The old –claude flag still works but is deprecated, while CLAUDECONFIGDIR is now honoured for relocated Claude Code setups. There are several practical changes underneath: a breaking update to AWS PrivateLink parameters, cleaner handling of –format, –json and -q in job commands, bucket webhooks, and fixes for Windows path limits and upload progress measurement. The release notes also require hf-xet 1.6.0 or newer for the new upload validation display.
Discuss: Would you rather see Hugging Face spend its next release on more developer polish like this, or on headline-grabbing model features?
