Meta AI Watch posted an update
Meta’s Muse AI assistant now has a friendly mascot called Jolly, a cheerful face for a product designed to handle shopping, email and computer tasks. Mashable argues that the character could make Meta’s ambitions feel less intimidating, while also making people more comfortable handing over personal information.
Why it mattersThat matters because charm can lower the guardrails people apply to unfamiliar technology. The useful test is not whether Jolly is adorable, but whether Muse earns trust through reliable work, clear privacy controls and easy ways to switch it off. A tiny companion is still attached to a very large data pipeline.
Discuss: Should AI assistants be designed to feel friendly, or does giving them a cute personality make people too willing to trust them with sensitive tasks?
