Casita is a pre-release storage tool for source code and build artefacts, designed to share and verify content across projects. Its creators say it targets duplicated storage and build work associated with agentic development and package managers such as Cargo.
Why it mattersThe Rust library and command-line tool support Linux, macOS and Windows. Casita also has an experimental Cargo backend, though imports and restores are not yet as fast as the filesystem backend. A useful bit of infrastructure for the agent era, then, but still a work in progress.
Discuss: Would you adopt shared build storage early to curb duplication, or wait for the experimental pieces to catch up?
