How-To Geek argues that second-hand AMD RX 6000 and RX 7000 graphics cards can still offer strong value for gamers squeezed by today’s GPU prices. Its example is a used RX 6800 XT for about $400 to $450, which the article says can match or slightly outperform an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB while costing roughly half as much.

Why it matters

The article also suggests the RX 6700 as a useful performance target for a budget gaming PC, comparing it with the PlayStation 5’s custom AMD hardware. These are the author’s buying recommendations, not a fresh head-to-head test. Used-card condition and local prices vary, so check both before handing over your money. The trade-off is that buying used means doing your homework on the individual card. But when new GPUs are carrying hefty premiums, a previous-generation card may be the more sensible way into modern games.

Discuss: Would you buy a tested used GPU to save hundreds, or pay extra for a new card and its warranty?
