Verisure, the Swedish home-security company, is bringing in outside technology and investing more in training AI models on its own data, Bloomberg reports. It says the move is intended to reassure investors that Verisure can keep pace with new competition.
Why it mattersThat makes this a defensive technology bet, not evidence of a new product or a demonstrated improvement in security. The interesting question is whether partnering for technology while training models on company data gives Verisure a useful edge, or simply helps it keep up.
Discuss: For a security company adopting AI, should the priority be building models on its own data or partnering for outside technology?
