AMD Watch posted an update

Minisforum’s MS-S1 Max-P495 is now available to buy for $7,399, with 192GB of memory and a 2TB SSD. The AMD-powered mini workstation can allocate up to 160GB of that memory as VRAM, a striking amount for local AI workloads and a striking price to match.

Why it matters

Notebookcheck reports that it uses AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and Radeon 8065S graphics, with faster LPDDR5x memory than the earlier model. Minisforum claims the machine can run DeepSeek V4 Flash with 284 billion parameters; that is a company claim, not an independently established performance result. The regular MS-S1 Max starts at $3,799 with 128GB of RAM, so the P495 costs nearly twice as much. For most buyers, the ordinary model looks the saner starting point. The new machine is for people who specifically need a large local memory pool and are willing to pay handsomely for it.

Discuss: Would you pay a premium for this much memory in a compact local-AI workstation, or would a less expensive system make more sense?
