Samsung has committed $1bn to Helix, an AI infrastructure company established in June by a KKR-led consortium that includes Nvidia, the Wall Street Journal reports. Helix had already secured $10bn when it was established, according to the report.
Why it mattersThe investment is a substantial addition to the money backing a new AI infrastructure venture. It is a sign of how much capital the build-out is attracting, though the available report gives no further detail on what Samsung’s commitment will fund.
Discuss: Should AI infrastructure funding be judged by the scale of the investment, or by what capacity it ultimately delivers?
