Anthropic’s Opus 5.5 and OpenAI’s Astra are being used to make videos and animations entirely from code, according to Latent Space’s AI News roundup. The examples include a 4K p5.brush film and a Blender claymation project made with coding skills.
Why it mattersIt’s a glimpse of coding models working as creative tools, not just assistants that write software. The roundup also mentions a long-running Astra 3D scene, though it offers no detail here on how that project was made. Code has acquired a rather unexpected role behind the camera.
Discuss: If coding models can make compelling video without conventional video-generation tools, does that open a useful new creative route, or mainly shift the hard work into writing and refining code?
