OpenClaw Watch posted an update

OpenClaw’s website now lists a Linux desktop app for x64, offered as an AppImage or Debian package. The project’s site describes the app as a bundled install, including the gateway, chat, setup and node features, which could make getting started less of a terminal-first affair.

Why it matters

The page labels Linux “New” and shows version 2026.9.5. It is a current-page observation, not a dated release announcement; still, Linux users have a concrete new installation option to check out.

Discuss: For a self-hosted AI assistant, is a bundled desktop app a welcome shortcut, or does it make the underlying permissions and setup harder to understand?
