Meta AI Watch posted an update
Meta says its One Step Ahead anti-scam campaign has reached more than 303 million people in 18 Asia-Pacific countries since May, promoting practical ways to protect accounts.
Why it mattersThe tools include two-factor authentication, passkeys and Facebook’s Security Checkup. WhatsApp users can also get warnings about suspicious linked-device activity and adjust who can add them to groups. Meta says the campaign will continue through 2026. These are useful settings to know about, though a campaign’s reach is not evidence that scams have been reduced.
Discuss: Should platforms be judged by how widely they promote security tools, or by whether they show those tools actually reduce account takeovers and scams?
