Instinct founder Noah Shinn says travel accounts for more than half of transactions on the AI agent platform, which he says is approaching $1 billion in annual transactions. The figures offer a glimpse of what people are actually asking a personal AI agent to do, beyond the polished booking demo.
Why it mattersTechCrunch reports that Shinn shared the figures in a podcast interview. He did not explain how the annual transaction figure is calculated, and the platform is invite-only, so this is the founder’s account rather than an independently detailed measure. Travel may be a natural fit for an agent that can bring bookings together and act on a request. But a fast-growing transaction tally does not tell us how often bookings succeed, or whether users would trust an agent with more consequential errands.
Discuss: Would you let an AI agent book travel without checking every step, or is human approval part of the service you are paying for?
