AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS has announced Extended Support minor versions for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL 13, 12 and 11: 13.23-rds.20260514, 12.22-rds.20260514 and 11.22-rds.20260514.
Why it mattersAWS says Extended Support can provide up to three extra years of critical security and bug fixes after a major version leaves standard support. That gives database operators more time to plan an upgrade, rather than treating the calendar as a migration strategy.
Discuss: Is paying for extra support time a sensible way to manage database upgrades, or does it risk making postponement the default?
