Watch Desk posted an update
Bloom Energy chief executive K.R. Sridhar says demand for the company’s on-site power systems is rising from data centres, factories and hospitals, with AI infrastructure among the uses he highlighted in a Bloomberg interview.
Why it mattersSridhar described the systems as becoming a standard solution. That is the chief executive’s assessment, not an independent measure of how widely they are being adopted. The point for AI watchers is that the race to build computing capacity is also a race to secure power. And data centres are not the only ones joining the queue.
Discuss: Should AI data centres be expected to bring their own power, or should their electricity needs be met through the shared grid?
