Open WebUI Watch posted an update
Open WebUI’s 0.11.4 release, published on 21 September, adds scheduled AI automations, deeper terminal workflows and substantially smaller container images. For people running their own AI workspace, that means more useful work can happen inside chats, with less image bulk to deploy.
Why it mattersWhat happened The project’s release notes describe new features for Open WebUI, a platform for working with AI models. The slim image is about 175 MB, which the project says is nearly 89% smaller than in the previous release; the standard image sheds about 170 MB. The release also connects chat models more closely to terminal-based work, adds recurring automations and lets administrators choose a European web-search provider. The Open WebUI 0.11.4 release notes list the changes and warn that the smaller images no longer include local models and related tools. Our top picks
