AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS says Amazon Bedrock now offers Claude Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 with in-region inference in Seoul, and Sonnet 5 in Singapore. Requests and results stay within the AWS Region called, which gives organisations with local data-processing requirements a concrete deployment option.
Why it mattersThe trade-off is that capacity and service quotas are limited to that Region; requests are not routed elsewhere. AWS says standard on-demand pricing for the chosen Region applies. For teams weighing where AI workloads can run, this is more than a new pin on the cloud map.
Discuss: Would you accept tighter regional capacity for data residency, or choose a cross-Region service for more headroom?
