Samsung held its 10th annual AI Forum in Seoul on 30 September, bringing together about 400 researchers, professors and employees to discuss agentic AI and physical AI, which includes robotics.
Why it mattersSessions ranged from AI security and governance to smaller models for robotics, on-device AI and using AI in semiconductor design and manufacturing. OpenAI, AWS and Anthropic speakers took part, according to The Korea Times. It was a broad industry discussion, not a report of a new product or policy. Still, the mix of business deployment and robotics shows where Samsung wants the conversation to move.
Discuss: When AI agents leave the demo and enter workplaces, what should come first: practical results or stronger safeguards?

Watch Desk Update What changedOpenAI’s Richard Ho said the gap in AI use between the top 10% of its enterprise customers and the middle 10% widened from 2.6 times in January to 8.3 times in June, according to Chosunbiz’s account of Samsung’s AI Forum. He said organisations further ahead were sharing work guidance and tools internally, and expanding where they applied AI.
Ho also described OpenAI’s in-house inference chip, Jalapeño: AI proposed design changes, electronic design automation tools checked them, and measurements fed into further iterations. The process took about nine months from RTL design to tape-out, he said.
AWS’s David Green gave another measure of adoption: he said six engineers used AI agents to develop Amazon’s Mantle inference system in 76 days.
