Two trailers marked with Nvidia’s logo were stolen from self-driving truck software company PlusAI, but their simulated cargo was sand, not chips. PC Gamer reports, citing Wired, that the trailers held 40,000 pounds in total and were later recovered; the thieves have not been caught.
Why it mattersPlusAI says the trucks were part of a simulation. The Nvidia branding reflects the companies’ work on autonomous vehicles, not a trailer full of GPUs, as the thieves discovered rather less elegantly.
